The collection “Between Heaven and Earth”, filmed all over the globe, introduces the viewer to ancient and contemporary knowledge of the stars and the universe.
We’ll be travelling to places far removed from civilization, like the Atacama Desert, the jungle of Puerto Rico or the Sacred Mount Graham…and to extraordinary historic sites such as Jantar Mantar in India or following in the traces of Galileo from Padua to Florence.
Each of the 30 episodes thus offers an opportunity to discover surprising and grand locations scattered over all latitudes, high and low, surrounded by lush nature in the heart of the continents or on their shores. They are considered the astronomers’ high places and, in their great diversity, all of them have one thing in common: they reveal to us the singular diversity of our own extraordinary planet Earth!

The writer of the series, Serge Brunier, is a journalist, photographer and amateur astronomer…a veritable globetrotter of the heavens. He's been observing and photographing the skies for over thirty years – one of his proudest achievements being his famous for 800 million pixel photo of the Milky Way, taken in the Atacama Desert.
