“VV” or "Visual Vernacular" ... This form of artistic expression was born with Bernard Bragg in the 1960's in the United States. It uses the most iconic part of the sign language, precisely the part that offers an exclusive “vision” of the world.
But what exactly is “VV”? The Clin d'œil festival - International Festival of Arts in Sign Language - brought together five great VV artists, each representing a different generation and style.
The film offers an opportunity to explore VV and find keys to appreciate its beauty and richness.
