The image of the sea devouring man has been haunting children for times immemorial. True, there are man-eaters living in the sea, but there also exist men who devour sea creatures…sharks in this case.
At the beginning of the month of April, the fishermen of the the island of Yeu (off the coast of Brittany) prepare to catch the sacred shark. It’s in fact more of a hunt, risky and treacherous. To locate and hunt down the animal, the boat has to change course often in order to keep trace of the sharks, always getting away deftly or hiding in underwater crevasses. We board the “Octopus” which has just been acquired by Michael, its captain of 32 years of age. At a price of 4.5 million francs, this is a costly operation – the acquisition price has to be amortized within 5 years – not a mean feat! There are no two ways to go about it: the ‘Octopus’ just needs to get its sharks!
