In 1999, at the age of 17, she had a terrible motorcycle accident and was in a coma for quite a long time. When she woke up five weeks later, she was unable to speak her mother tongue. But, surprisingly, she could express herself in sign language, a language which she had only discovered recently.
Even today, her memories of this period are sketchy. She therefore decided to return to the Basque Country, with her family and friends from those days in order to better understand what happened there 23 years ago: a regular ‘renaissance’ thanks to sign language!
