Fleeing the war in Ukraine, Maryna and Anton have just arrived in France, with their two daughters aged 7 years and 17 months. All of them are deaf. They are staying with a deaf host family in Lisle-sur-Tarn, a small town near Toulouse.

In the space of just two months, they have already acquired the basics of French sign language, the ‘codes’ and the French way of life. How do they experience this brutal uprooting and how do they see their future in France?
