14. THE GAME OF LOVE
Director(s): Elodie BONNES – Writer(s): Elodie BONNES Contact Print page
The team of “L’Oeil et la Main” joined a class of 4th grade sign language students at the André́ Malraux college in Ramonville, in the suburbs of Toulouse, France. On the programme for these college students is the study of classic works with the theme of love, such as the play "Cyrano de Bergerac" by Edmond Rostand.
Working on these texts is also an opportunity for these young deaf people to express themselves on such an intimate and delicate topic.
At an age when love no longer has the innocence of childhood, but begins to combine love with desire and sexuality, how do you express this feeling to one another? Will the other listen to it, share it? Will he or she welcome this part of oneself that we offer, or will we be mocked, rejected or humiliated?
The words of the students echo the scenes of school life and gradually bring out their emotions and fragments of their personal stories.
AVAILABLE FOR SCREENING: original French (commentary, sub-titles, signing).
