Joël lives alone in his apartment, in a residential home, but cannot make do without having his daughter Sonia around.
While these alternative solutions to the retirement home or nursing home are a real source of comfort for some deaf people, it’s not as easy for their children. Despite all the live one has for one's parents, it is not always easy to take on the role of caregiver. We’ll be meeting two families who made the choice to take care of their deaf parents, so as to offer them as much autonomy as possible and to maintain a close link by sharing their daily lives.
