From the start of the lockdown, many spontaneous acts of solidarity saw the day. While deaf people are used to voluntary actions, they mostly focus on their own needs. Have they now invested in larger solidarity networks?

In Toulouse, Anissa, a leather craftswoman by profession, organised a call for donations to launch a project to create transparent masks, because they’d make it possible to overcome the communication difficulties associated with wearing the compulsory mask. In the Paris region, Rodolphe, a deaf actor, was able to mobilize the generosity of the deaf for his social outreach activity in favour of the homeless.
Has the Covid crisis reinforced the need to act collectively?
