Everyone in France knows Cabu. A past master of caricature famous for his acid sketches, he is a legend amongst newspaper cartoonists.

For over forty years, his cartoons in the satirical reviews Hara-Kiri, Le Canard enchaîné, Pilote and Charlie Hebdo have skilfully lampooned the negative aspects of French society, poking fun at stupidity and intolerance. Passionately anti-establishment, anti-military, anti-clerical, anti-politicians, anti-petty bourgeois, anti-sport and anti-blood sports, Cabu has become a symbol of protest.
But who is the man behind the eternal adolescent persona? To find out, we spoke to Cabu about the issues and themes feeding his work, things that make him angry or concerns he feels passionate about.
