This is a time for social unrest: “Nuit Debout”, #Me Too” or today the “gilets jaunes, the Yellow Vests... All over France, citizens meet spontaneously to assert their rights.

Taking advantage of this ground swell that is shaking society, the deaf try to make people listen to their own demands: they’ve been asking for equality! For many years. “Sourds en colère” (Angry deaf), an association that’s been rising from the ashes, is organizing a big demonstration on March 20th, 2019. Are we witnessing a second Deaf Awakening, this broad movement of struggle and emancipation that took place in the 1980s?
What blockages are the deaf still facing today that would make them take to the streets?

AVAILABLE FOR SCREENING: original French (commentary, sub-titles, signing)
