DE GAULLE, THE GREAT BUILDER
Director(s): Camille JUZA – Writer(s): Camille JUZA Contact Print page
In 1944, while France was still partially occupied, De Gaulle travelled the country to meet the French.
He saw a country seized by a great wave of enthusiasm, that of reconstruction and inventing a new society, a fairer and more united society.
In the space of thirty years, the French have profoundly transformed France, introducing the country to housing estates, comfort, modern agriculture, cars and vacations. But also to a production-driven society that steamed ahead at full speed. For better and for worse.
This is the story of thirty years of spectacular transformation of which De Gaulle has become the symbol. A period that became known in France as the “Trente Glorieuses”, the glorious Thirty.
