For her own investigation into Rosa’s life, the author was able to rely on an extraordinary fund of family archives: hundreds of photographs and hours of film that tell not only a personal story but the larger (hi)story of France and Germany.
These photos were stored in a suitcase bearing the name “Broadway” in large letters on its side - the perfect title for the story of a ‘comédie humaine’...
