The earthquake of 12th January 2010 in Haiti, one of the poorest countries on earth, has killed at least 230 000 people and left over 300 000 injured. The deaf community, more isolated than ever in this situation of distress, has nevertheless been able to organise themselves and participate in the reconstruction effort thanks to the support of the humanitarian organisation International Deaf Emergency, which was founded by Emmanuel Jacq together with many others.
The film captures this extraordinary proof of solidarity among the deaf community which rapidly enabled them to carve out a surprising place for themselves after this catastrophe…
