1. The Rainbow City
On our 1st day, we meet singer Johnny Clegg, aka ‘Le Zoulou Blanc’ (white Zulu) and we’ll climb the hill to Yeoville to listen to the mystical songs of the faithful high above Jo'burg.
2. Metamorphosis of a City
The city centre is completely changed since the end of Apartheid. We’ll explore “Little Ethiopia”, a former white business district and we are received by famous artist William Kentridge in his poetic and dilusional univers.
3. African Safari
First stop: the elephant sanctuary, then on to the multi-ethnic village of Lesedi, a true depository of Xhosa, Zulu and Basotho culture. Not forgetting the depths of the Skerfontein Grotto, known as the ‘cradle of humanity’…
4. Meeting the Artists
Street art is a prominent form of art here. We'll meet a most singular character, plastic artist Wayne Barker or fashion designer David Thale, the most promising fashion talent on the African continent…
5. A Day in Soweto
Strolling through the maze of Kliptown, a part of Soweto that remains one of the poorest slums in the country. We’ll also stop at the museum of the anti Apartheid struggle, the house of Nelson Mandela,and to the top of the Openheimer tower for its splendid view…
