We’ve come to Argentina, our last stop in this series where we meet the famous Gauchos, the authentic Argentinean cowboys and their boots made from foals’ hides.
We also go on a shopping spree in the fashionable boutiques of Buenos Aires, where young designers re-interpret – not without a pinch of humour – the South American fashion icons.
Of course, we will also meet the mothers whose children have disappeared during the Argentine military dictatorship - they are easily recognisable by their embroidered white headscarves. They have been demonstrating on the Plaza de Mayo for the past thirty years.
Then we are off participating in a Murga, a popular carnival where everyone comes in colourful and unique costumes. And we meet the members of Los Mas Sueltos, young singers with tattooed skulls and pierced faces, who are fans of famous American labels or rather their counterfeit replicas.
And we end our visit with the Tango and learn that a dancer is worth nothing without his shoes, a veritable symbol of his passion for the Tango.
