On the one hand, great knowledge about the foetus and newly-borns has been obtained in the last decade. Nevertheless, little use is made of this knowledge when dealing with parents and the newly-borns themselves. For a number of years now, specialists have developped protocols and “proof” in order to gain the support of the medical establishment and the general public for this field of expertise.
