British artist William Turnball died on 16 Nov. 2012 in the year of his 90th birthday.

“Beyond Time” is a journey into the life and work of this sculptor and painter, from his humble roots in the shipyards of Dundee to his standing as one of the world’s most highly respected artists.

The film explores Turnbull’s experiences in the RAF (he joined aged 17 in WWII), in Paris with artists such as Giacometti, Picasso and Brancusi as well as in London with Richard Hamilton, Eduardo Paolozzi and the Independent Group.
He is also very popular in America and has long-standinghis friendships with Mark Rothko and Barnet Newman. The film is narrated by British actor Jude Law.
