« LA DEFENSE » is Europe’s largest purpose-built district business, situated 10 km west of Paris, run by a powerful public body by the name of Epadesa.

It is home to an exceptional number of banks and multinationals and holds many of the Paris urban area’s tallest and most ambitious high-rises. In 2009, it made international headlines when it became known that Jean Sarkozy – president Sarkozy’s 23-year-old son – would be elected president of this powerful organisation.
Public opinion was outraged and Jean Sarkozy withdrew from the post in the end.
