Grace Kelly - Princess Grace of Monaco - died on 14th Sept. 1982. Her oscar-winning movie career had ended with her marriage to Prince Rainier, but her films have become classics...
A homage to the star and the Princess by Patrick Jeudy...

Destiny of a Princess” begins in New York, on the day of Grace Kelly’s untimely death on Sept. 14, 1982. Director Patrick Jeudy happened to be in a New York, in a cab, when he heard the terrible news on the radio. Ever since, he wanted to do this film.
Set almost entirely within the period of May 1955 to May 1956, the story focuses on the romance and wedding of the two “lead characters” - told from the viewpoint of the America of the 1950’s. To be more precise, as remembered by “Jinx”, a New York TV reporter and friend of the young Grace Kelly.
Although Jinx really existed, she never wrote her memoirs. Her narrative springs from the director’s imagination… inspired by the archive material he found of Jinx interviewing Grace and accompanying her on her voyage on board the “Constitution” to Monte Carlo for the « Wedding of the Century », as was named the film on their marriage which are featured in the documentary.
