Director Patrice Gérard loves the Bretagne, the land of the famous Bigouden headdress, and its seafaring fishermen. But the rules made in Bruxelles is making life hard on them – these days, they’re having the blues. Patrice goes to Burxelles and to Guilvinec in the Bretagne, hoping to find a way to save both – the fish and the men. An opportunity for him to spin a tale of the region and its people…

But first, Patrice goes to Bruxelles trying to understand what they’re up to. He sets out with a specialist of the subject, André Guéguen, head of the Fishermen’s Association of West Brittany and of Guilvinec. The fishermen are worried. It is evident that this” affair” between the sea and the men goes a long way back

In 12 eps., we discover the hardship and worries of the Brittany fishermen – their struggle to preserve their profession and a time-old tradition that has shaped their minds and their destiny for centuries. During six months of filming, we meet the people of the « Bigouden Country », ready to fight for everything they hold dear…
