In olden times in Georgia, daily life was punctuated by the singing of chants. Many long-established chants seemed likely to disappear until the Georgians adapted them to their banquets, the famous Georgian "supras". These feasts are one of the few opportunities now to listen to Georgian a cappella singing. From the preparations to the conclusion of the banquet early next morning, the camera watches and, even better, listens to these strangely lilting, ancient harmonies.
