On March 12th, 1994, in Geneva, Claude Marthaler set off on his bike to go to Japan.
He expected to be gone for two years, but when he finally reached Japan, he’d been bitten by the travel bug. He simply had to tour the world, make a childhood dream come true. Claude finally returned to Geneva 7 years and 120 000 km later, on June 16th, 2001.

“Last Stop Geneva” follows Claude on the last 4 months of his round-the-world trip and during 6 months after his return home. Claude, then 41, tried to settle back into an ordinary life...
His great adventure has resulted in a book and a fabulous slide collection. He is the proud owner of 8 address books bursting with names, two passports overflowing with stamps and visas and 1001 souvenirs. His tale is much in demand… Claude now looks back on his 7 years on the road, offering us a pertinent account of the joys and hazards of travel.
