The “Ile de France” has a heroic history: the elegant ocean liner was launched in 1926 for its first crossing from Le Havre to New York. Nicknamed, the ‘Saint Bernard of the seas’, the “Ile de France” became tangled up in World War II and saved many lives throughout its eventful career.
