It’s the largest of its kind in Europe and a place out of time: 100 000 tombs in a green haven of tranquillity and emotion. Boleslaw Szenicer watches over the past ever since he discovered this place in 1958. He was six years old then and his father used to work there. In 1980, he simply made up his mind to become its guardian. His son persuaded him to write down his knowledge – it’s the only information that exists and it’s all stored in shoeboxes. Jews from all over the world contact him to find traces of their family…
