For Paul Vieille, the case of “Jugeotte” spells disaster. The health and safety authorities are adamant: his entire herd will have to be sacrificed, all his cows will be slaughtered without delay!
Paul Vieille runs a small farm in France’s Vendée region. He has switched to “green” breeding and has always gone to great pains to limit the use of industrial animal feed. His herd grazes in the meadows. Fate has hit him hard and unfairly… For the first time, a farmer speaks out, tells of the tragedy and tries to understand what has happened.
The film accompanies Paul Vieille on the day when the authorities arrive at dawn to take his herd away. And on his visit to the Vosges area in search of a new herd.
