Thousands of years have not been sufficient to discover all the beauty and intelligence of the Egyptian civilisation – the longest and most mysterious in the history of mankind. Unearthing its ruins and remnants from underneath the sands and the sea has become a work of miracles. It is thought that in the bay of Alexandria, just a few steps from the shore, a royal city has been lying hidden under the sea for over 1600 years.
It’s been one man’s dream to find this ancient city and to uncover its secrets: Frank Goddio, an underwater archaeologist, has been exploring the seas with his team for close to twenty years, excavating harbours and sites in search of remnants of the past that testify to the history of our civilisation. Alexandria presents the ultimate challenge. Will he discover Cleopatra’s legendary palace?
