Tehran traffic mirrors a society where everything is supposed to follow strict rules and Islamic morals… In reality, success or even survival depend on one’s ability to bypass those very rules.

The “Diamond” driving school is one of the oldest in Iran. “No Way Out” follows the tribulations of several middle-aged driving instructors in their efforts to guide their young hopeful “protégés” through the daily nightmare of Teheran traffic…where rules need to be learnt but are best forgotten if you want to get anywhere.
As the film crew itself struggles with a variety of regulations - be it filming codes or the necessity of authorizations - we dive deep into Iranian society with its contradictions, its doubts and diversity as well as its vivacity. Narrated by the director, Iranian herself, the film is as much a comedy as the portrait of a struggling society.
A story about personal freedom and morals, about finding the right path in a country where only the conman wins.

"...Négar Zoka films delicious dialogues, joyously outspoken, which demonstrate that life prevails over the stranglehold of regulations ...
La Croix (Jean-Claude Raspinegeas)

"... one of the most pleasant aspects of this documentary resides in the similarities with famous Iranian films, particularly the sequences in the car..."
Les Inrocks (Vincent Ostria)
