After 6 months of analysing the testimonies of more than 30 witnesses, lawyers and experts, the Monsanto Tribunal of international judges presented their legal opinion....that Monsanto’s practices undermine basic human rights and the right to a healthy environment, the right to food, the right to health....and concludes that International law should clearly assert the protection of the environment and ‘ecocide’ as a crime.

For years, Monsanto and its widely used weed killer have come under scrutiny. And now, the firm is being held accountable for human rights violations for crimes against humanity and for ecocide by the Intl. Monsanto Tribunal which was held 14-16 Oct. 2016 in The Hague.
Eminent judges, under the presidency of Judge Tulkens, heard testimonies from victims from all over the world. Their verdict, in the form of an “advisory opinion”, will be delivered in April 2017.
This is the story of an unusual trial with testimonies of key victims from the U.S., France, Sri Lanka or Argentina. They were filmed in their own environment prior to appearing in court making their stories all the more compelling to watch.
The European Commission will come to a decision on the future of glyphosate in the E.U. before end 2017.
