Continuing our series of reports investigating French society through its mental health institutions for civil servants, in this case for those working in public transport – bus drivers, staff on trains and underground. This 3rd film enters the IAPR, an institution for post-traumatic psychological treatment, prevention and research. It has been jointly set up in 1999 by the authorities in charge of public transport to help those who have suffered from physical or verbal abuse at work. The investigation centres on three particular cases, men and women who have accepted to witness in front of the camera. The clinic’s staff averages 30 years. Many of the psychologists are at the beginning of their career and discover, through their work with the patients, the harsh realities of violence in the work place. Their testimony, added to those of the patients, adds poignancy to the report.
