« Teacher’s Tale » continues the series of reports investigating French society through its mental health institutions for civil servants, in this case for the teaching profession. The general health insurance for National Education runs 11 such institutions, among them the Marcel Rivière Institute, a psychiatric hospital known under the name of “La Verrière”, treating some 1100 patients a year, among them 40% are teachers treated for depression neurosis, psychosis as well as more serious mental illnesses. The report tells the story of three in-patients, teachers who have accepted to face the camera.
